The Public Utilities Commission is responsible for the regulation of the telecommunications sector in The Bahamas in accordance with the Public Utilities Commission Act, 1993 and the Public Utilities Commission (Amendment) Act, 1999. As part of this function, the Commission shall grant licences pursuant to section 9 of the Telecommunications Act, 1999, for the provision of telecommunications systems and services.
